Great post about licensing. I was wondering though, if you knew if when you bought Enterprise Edition if the installation included the option to install Standard as well, like the Eval does? Reason I ask is I just recently installed a Standard Edition eval and am up and running well with just IM at this point, but my company will most likely be purchasing Enterprise Edition so we can integrate with our Aspect phone systems and do a full-blown unified communications experience with multiple pools. But that is down the road a little bit. I would first be looking to just install a Full-Version of Standard Edition until all that planning is done, but didn't want to buy two separate licenses at this point. Any idea?

Yes, the media for OCS contains both Standard and Enterprise versions. You just run the appropriate setup file - setupee for Enterprise and setupse for Standard.
